Description
modelled after J.J. Kaendler and Johann Eberlein, based on Italian Commedia dell'Arte, the figure Pantalone from the Duke of Weissenfels series, on a mound moulded naturalistic base, the figure is depicted in forwarded movement, dressed in a iron-red tunic and breeches with white stockings, yellow slippers and black cape with a red skull cap, his face with a brown mask, marked with factory mark in blue underglaze, incised model number 541, impressed numerals 125, with painter's numeral 75 painted in black overglaze, numerals M62.273 in red overglaze, all under base; height: 14 cm (5 1/2 in.)

The porcelain figure is in very good condition. Inspection under UV light shows no sign of restoration.
