Ancient Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son culture, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A fine bronze bracelet of torque form comprised of a broad band enveloped in a rich, seafoam green patina. One periphery flares out and is adorned by a series of vertical striations along its exterior, while the other periphery displays a pair of horizontal bands in low relief. Liberal remains of applied decoration additionally embellish the exterior. The small size of this adornment suggests that it was likely cast for a child. Chipping to flared periphery. Slight bending but form still clear. Expected nicks, abrasions, and softening of detail, commensurate with age. Otherwise, intact, excellent, and wearable with thick encrustations and lovely patina.
