AMERICAN TALL CASE CLOCK

Massachusetts, late 18th century, mahogany. Arched hood covers the painted metal dial with second subsidiary dial and a rocking sailing ship above. Resting on the mostly mahogany case with bird's eye maple tablets above and below the long door at the waist with quarter column pilasters, bottom with rolling apron and short bracket feet. 92" height

Condition

There are no finials. Ratchet wheel for the bell strike is stripped when it strikes as the weight stays up when wound until the top of the hour and it gives-way.
