Civil War Captain Commission of Samuel C. Lawrence of the Military Company District #165 of the Massachusetts Militia who had resigned as Brigadier General of the 3rd. Brigade of the Massachusetts Militia five months before. This was not opened since it was issued. The document is signed and sealed by John A. Andrew Governor of Massachusetts and signed by Benjamin Franklin Hayes who was a Judge and became State Senator from Medford Mass. Nice condition document having tri fold creases. Measures 16" x 10-1/2"
