FRENCH SATINWOOD PALAIS ROYAL MUSICAL SEWING BOX / WORK BOX WITH NEEDLEWORKING TOOLS, rectangular-form box with shaped and contoured sides, raised on four ball-form feet, hinged cover with steel faceted dots and diamond embellishments in a scroll and wreath pattern, facing with mother-of-pearl escutcheon key hole; cover interior with a mirror and a blue/white chenille border, lift-out tray with off-white velvet lining and pink paper covering, tray fitted with a sewn-in pincushion with embroidered florals and flowers between two circular-form mirrors with matching blue/white chenille rim. Needleworking mother-of-pearl tools comprising of six articles, including two lace winders, a stiletto with disc-form handle, scissors, a needle case, and a thimble, remaining articles include a colorless cut-glass diamond and ribbed patterned scent bottle with threaded cap and faceted stopper. Very good overall condition, expected light usage wear and minor scattered losses, lid lacking pull handle, old break with associated very minor losses and repairs to lock insertion, interior fabric with scattered minor fraying and discoloration to velvet. Tools in very good condition, stiletto with a separation to the shaft, scent bottle with scattered flakes/roughness. Music box in unknown working condition (See Catalogue Guarantee) and with key.
