This is a signed, glossy color photo of one of the great American women of the space age, astronaut Sally Ride. Ms. Ride, who just recently passed away, was a physicist who joined NASA in 1978 and in 1983, at the age of 32, became the first American woman in space as a crew member on the Space Shuttle Challenger for STS-7. She was instrumental in developing the Space Shuttle's robotic arm, and was the first woman to use the robot arm in space, and to retrieve a satellite.
