9th-6th century B.C. A bronze discoid shield boss with raised and domed centre, repouss? border with later added eagles; central perforation for attachment to a shield. UK private collection before 2000. UK art market. Property of a London gentleman. Quivers and shields in Luristan, were made from hammered metal. Recent excavations of Luristan burials in Khatunban have evidenced bronze embossed umbos with similar diameters. [No Reserve]
