Original sheet music from the 1898 Broadway show CLORINDY: The Origin of the Cake Walk, words by Paul Lawrence Dunbar, music by Will Marion.

Large pillow with the embroidered illustration similar to the front cover of the Who Dat Chicken in Dis Crowd music sheet (approximately 21 1/2 inches x 21 inches).

Condition: Both are in good overall original condition, pillow has light wear and spots of soiling, Sheet music has some chipping and tears along the edges, pages separated.
Provenance: private estate.

*Who Dat Say Chicken in Dis Crowd was the main song performed in Clorindy, or The Origin of the Cake Walk, which was the first Broadway musical with music and lyrics composed and written by African Americans, and performed by an all-black cast.
