Description
Thirteen Piece English Staffordshire Dessert Set, 19th c., by W. Adams and Sons, Stoke-Upon-Trent, 19th c., with landscape reserves surrounded by broad magenta and gilt scroll borders, consisting of five footed compotes, and eight dessert plates, Tall Compote- H.- 8 3/8 in., W.- 13 1/2 in., D.- 10 3/4 in., Plates- H.- 7/8 in., Dia.- 8 7/8 in. (13 Pcs.) Provenance: Property from a Gentleman Collector, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Minor wear to gilt and some of the colored finish, per normal use. Small scratches/scuffs in center of some plates per normal use. Damage to one plate where a wedge was broken off (a triangle shape that is approx. 2-inches at the widest edge) that has since been repaired with glue. This plate would benefit from professional repair. Handsome examples.
