Attributed to Martin Lister (1639-1712): Historica Conchyliorum Libri 4, Sectio XIII: One Plate
Ink on paper, unsigned, inscribed '1181' lower right, variously inscribed on the reverse.
17 1/2 x 10 3/4 in. (sight), 29 x 22 in. (frame).
Note: Dr. Martin Lister was a physician to Queen Anne. His interest in natural history lead him to create his book of mollusks in 1685. He is considered the founder of conchology in England.
Condition
Staining and pale foxing. A small tear at the left sheet edge. Not able to open frame.
