A Hellenistic terracotta of Aphrodite, 3rd - 2nd century B.C.
Elegant terracotta made of reddish clay. The richly robed goddess stands relaxed on a pedestal. The hair is adorned, the slender body is covered except for the left breast. The robe is richly draped. On the back of the pedestal the two Greek letters Delta and Iota. Remains of white primer. The base with restored breaks and minimal additions. Otherwise intact and of charming quality. Height 30.5 cm.
