THREE FUCHI (HILT COLLARS) AND SIX FUCHI-GASHIRA (HILT COLLARS AND POMMELS)
Edo period (1615-1868), 18th to 19th century
The first fuchi shakudo nanako and gold, with tigers and a cub crossing a river; the second shakudo nanako and gold, with a bird and waves, with a certificate of attribution to [Goto] Renjo; the third shakudo nanako and gold, with a bird and foliage; the first fuchi-gashira, shakudo nanako and gold, with floral crests and motifs; the second in Mino Goto style, shakudo nanako and gold, with chrysanthemums and other flowers; the third shakudo nanako and gold, with bamboo and stylised clouds; the fourth shakudo and silver, with water and dewdrops; the fifth shakudo nanako and gold, with crests and flowers; the sixth shakudo, gold, and silver, with a hazy sunset, signed Omori Teruhide with a kao; one fuchi-gashira with a plain wood storage box.
