Description
1777 Saint Augustine Meditations Soliloquies Bible Prayer + Anselm & Bernard
Augustine of Hippo was a 5th-century early Christian church philosopher and theologian. While most known for his work City of God, he also wrote many other treatises on aspects of the Christian faith. His stance on free will vs predestination and fatalism were supported by and still is supported by, the Catholic Church, as his teachings on free will are consistent with modern doctrine.
Saint Augustines Meditations is a collection of early church prayers and devotions along with teachings designed for priests and monks. It also includes the treatises and meditations of Saint Bernard and Saint Anselm of Canterbury which helped define Saint Augustines stance on original sin.
This late 18th-century French edition of the works of Augustine includes Meditations and Soliloquies
