Civil War correspondence, hand written letter on "Headquarters Cavalry Corps. Army of the Pottomac", letterhead dated April 14 1864, adressed to Maj Gen P. H. Sheridan, reads "General, I called today pay my respects and should have done so sooner if my occupations in the reorganization had not kept me near my ? ?. I wished to assure you that in your new position. You will have the cordial support and good will of myself and I believe of all the Army of the Potomac, I shall be glad to see you at any time". Shows light discoloration to paper, folds in letter, light wear to edges.
