Classic L.B. Cole cover featuring a werewolf, skulls, and hooded menaces, all rendered in the day-glo colors of a living nightmare. "Along with William M. Gaines, L.B. Cole was the other great auteur of fifties comics. A unique talent, Cole may well have been the inventor of psychedelic art. What the permissive pre-Code era allowed Cole to express was not forbidden thoughts but the glorious excess of his freehand virtuosity." — Jim Trombetta, The Horror! The Horror! Comic Books the Government Didn't Want You to Read! Abrams: 2010, p. 283.
