An important edition, ably edited and annotated by Gronovius père et fils. Gellius was a Latin grammarian and judge of the second century A.D. His "Attic Nights" was said to have been written for the entertainment and education of his children, and offers a rich tapestry of the life and times of the Roman Empire under the five good emperors. Condition
Vellum slightly warped, soiled and scuffed, corners bumped; waterstain and small paper bookseller's label on pastedown, mild marginal toning, very good.
