William Spratling (American 1900-1967, active Taxco, Mexico), mark used 1956-1962, forty-nine piece sterling silver and rosewood handled flatware service comprising: eight dinner forks (8"), eight salad forks (7.25"), eight rounded tablespoons (7.5"), eight rounded teaspoons (6.75"), eight dinner knives with stainless steel blades (9"), eight butter knives (5.75"), and one sauce ladle in a different pattern (6"), all appropriately marked. Note: This pattern is similar to "Aztec" designed by Hector Aguilar. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ruth West, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Two salad forks with detached tines,end cap on one dinner knife detached, one butter knife blade detached, sauce ladle handle broken, surface scratches consistent with domestic use, no apparent engraving removal.
