**First Time At Auction**
East Asia, China, Neolithic period, ca. 3500 to 2500 BCE. An ensemble of 3 hand-built pottery vessels from Neolithic China. First is an orange ground cup with a pair of strap handles that is decorated with thick bands of dark brown pigment. Next is a squat buffware vase with a pair of wide strap handles arching from rim to carinated midsection. The largest vessel is a bowl with a slightly overhanging rim, a pair of tab-shaped handles, and swaths of light and dark brown pigment within the basin. Size of largest: 7.2" W x 4.5" H (18.3 cm x 11.4 cm)
Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010

Condition
Largest vessel repaired with resurfacing and overpainting along break lines; 2 smaller vessels are intact and very good. Each piece has light abrasions, fading to pigment where applicable, and light encrustations. Nice preservation to overall forms.
