With the observations and remarks of the most celebrated hop-planters in Britain, 'second edition', half-title with advertisements verso, engraved frontispiece (tightly bound in), a few small woodcut illustrations in text, occasional spotting, lightly browned, contemporary calf, gilt, rebacked in 20th century brown morocco, corners little worn, rubbed, [Fussell p.113; Goldsmiths' 6838; Henrey 506; cf. Hunt 477 & Perkins 221 (first edition)], 8vo, Printed for D. Browne, at the Black Swan, without Temple-Bar, [c.1733].
⁂ Rare at auction. A reissue of the first edition of 1729 with new title page and half-title. Bradley was a Fellow of the Royal Society and in 1724 was elected the first Professor of Botany at Cambridge. Henrey says that he was 'outstanding for his versatility'.
