Pair of Festival International DE Paris du Film Fantastique et de Science Fiction Paris, 1981, George Mélies Gilt Bronze Medallions. The Paris International Festival of Fantastic and Science-Fiction Film (Xle Festival International DE Paris du Film Fantastique et de Science Fiction Paris) was a film festival that took place in Paris between 1972 and 1989. The festival was a raucus affair hosted at The Rex Theater, the festival itself likened to rock concerts. The film that took top honors at the festival in 1981 was MAD MAX. These two medallions are from the collection of Newton P. Jacobs founder of Crown International Pictures who presented GALAXINA. Medallions have a superb high relief of legendary director and the father of SFX, George Mélies, engraved by André Vigneau, the verso a fantastic interpretation of his film, THE MERRY FROLICS OF SATAN from 1906. Gilt on Bronze 3¼ x 3¼" and both in mint condition with original plaques.
