Description
The United States was entering World War II and America needed to be united in the war effort. Every Man, Woman, and Child from 1942 by an anonymous artist speaks to an important message of unity in American World War II propaganda posters. The image is designed in the style of famed graphic illustrator, Lester Beal and makes use of the patriotic color scheme of the United States. The title of this poster is taken from President Roosevelt's December 9, 1941 radio address laying the case for the U.S.A to enter the war in the wake of Japan's attack at Pearl Harbor. In the speech FDR states: "We are now in this war. We are all in it-all the way. Every single man, woman, and child is a partner in the most tremendous undertaking of our American history. We must share together the bad news and the good news, the defeats and the victories-the changing fortunes of war." A large directional arrow attributes the output of tanks, planes, and ships directly to the entire American public. The message even includes children so that every person felt that there was a place for them in the war effort. Later messages would also incorporate African Americans working side by side with white workers to demonstrate the national spirit. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
