A rare ceramic statue of "The Tennis Player" by Charles Catteau, c. 1930, in ivory colored glaze. Depicting a stylized tennis player in action, designed by Charles Catteau for Belgium ceramics giant Boch Freres, La Louviere sometime between 1920 -1930, slip cast, dimensions 12 1/2 in. (31 cm) length x 10 1/4 in. (26 cm) height x 6 3/4 in. (17 cm) width, signed on outside of base "B.F.K." (for Boch Freres Keramis) and "Ct." (for Catteau) with impressed form number 1235 on the inside bottom, an example of this piece is shown in Marc Pairon's book on Charles Catteau (page 298), excellent condition.
