Native American, Southeastern United States, likely Cherokee, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A lovely hand-built pottery bowl incised with linear symbolic glyphs. The dish rests on a flat base with thick walls that flare outward, formed via the traditional coil and scrape method from a warm hued buffware with a burnished surface and black smoke clouds. Size: 7.6" Diameter x 1.75" H (19.3 cm x 4.4 cm)
