Description
1st - 10th items: Ten (10) Mottahedeh Porcelain pieces in the Natchez Shell pattern, after those in the collection of the Historic Natchez Foundation, including six (6) dinner plates and four (4) flat cups. Produced by the Vista Alegre company of Portugal. Includes: Six (6) dinner plates with central vignettes of coral and shells on a white ground, surrounded by a peach-colored rim with scrolling foliate gilt highlights; 10" D; and four (4) flat cups having coral and shell vignettes on a white ground below a peach band to rim, gilt trim to rim and handle; 3 1/2" H x 4" W x 3" D. Maker's marks stamped to underside of bases. 1988-1991. 11th - 17th items: Seven (7) Mottahedeh armorial porcelain dishes having a central polychrome and parcel-gilt coat of arms decoration with surrounding drapery and tassels, surmounted by a knight's helmet, with an empty banner below all edged with a gilt patterned border having alternating floral and griffin vignettes. All pieces with Mottahedeh, Vista Alegre, Portugal stamp to undersides; some with additional number stamp to undersides. 8 5/8" dia. 20th century.
