205 清 黃玉瑞獸

黃玉質，色澤溫潤雅致，凝光內斂。瑞獸呈伏臥之姿，扭首回望。濃眉大眼，凸吻，闊鼻大嘴，露尖牙，下顎有鬚。頭頂獨角，鬃髮順著長頸披覆，絲絲分明。身軀肌肉飽滿健壯，臀後長尾上仰，姿態靈動。整體造形飽滿，打磨潤滑，雕琢刀法精緻細膩，瑞獸指爪、鬃毛、肢體語言表達清楚，凸顯出靈敏神態，頗為討喜。
瑞獸鎮邪保平安，吉兆也。雖非現實中可見之動物，然形象鮮活，靈巧可愛，予人神奇的兆瑞氣象。明清兩代，瑞獸被賦予更多吉祥、吉慶含義，流行於民間生活等各個層面，無一不代表福祿雙全、幸福安康，因此幻化出各種形體，精雕細琢各種樣式以彰顯內心的希冀。且黃玉出產較少，又諧音「皇」，宋代至清代一直被皇家壟斷，是玉材中極為名貴的一種。清代玉雕作品中，各式玉獸多為青玉或白玉，以黃玉製作較少見。清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清〈玉臥獸〉，與本品皆取上乘黃玉雕琢，造形富於想像力，注重細部表現，碾琢工藝精緻，盈手把玩別具情趣。拍場相似之例如拍賣於紐約蘇富比2020年9月22日，編號227，清乾隆〈黃玉雕瑞獸擺件〉，可資參考。
