A BRONZE BUST OF MENELAUS FRENCH, LATE 19TH CENTURY with a gilt bronze socle, foundry stamp G*S to reverse28cm high overall, base 10cm wideProvenance: Property from the Kingshott CollectionThe foundry stamp G*S probably is for the Parisian foundry of G. Servant. Servant specialised in Egyptian Revival and Antique reproduction pieces and was a medallist at the major international exhibitions between 1867 and 1887.
Condition
Bust generally good- mild rubbing to edges, base with rubbing to gilding and accretion of some dirt and verdigris to recesses, small dings to foot edges
