Chinese ,Qianlong Period, the women holding lotus form vase stand in mirror image poses, each figure is modeled and enameled similarly, their black hair is coiffed into a high double coulded bun and held in place with gilt pins, their faces and hands are delicately tinted with flesh coloring and detailed in rose and black, each wears a turquoise collar over a fur cape, the multicolored robes are in shades of red, orange and yellow with scroll patterned roundels in gilt ,their skirts in turquoise green ,each wears a cord with tassels around her waist, functioning as candleholders, were fairly popular ,they can be found in variations of these poses, of differing sizes

Provenance: Estate of Dr. Silvio Riccio, Internal Medicine Physician, Nanuet, New York, originally purchased from Imperial oriental art, New York,NY on Sept 23,2010, for $ 15,000 dollars,come with the original receipt and identical pair can be found in the Peabody Museum of Salem, the Copeland Collection ,Chinese and Japanese ceramic figures, another example was sold in Chritie's New York on Oct 19 2006 for $ 18,000 USD

Condition: both in overall good condition with tiny frits and nick to the lotus vase (candleholder) and some touch up to the hair, no damage and restoration can be observed
