A massive Chinese wood carved Guanyin figure, goddess of mercy, carved from a solid block, dating from the 19th century. The large seated Guanyin figure sits on a lotus platform, with left knee folded outward, her right hand by her side and left arm raised at the elbow, the delicate fingers bending inwards. He head is slightly tilted forward and she wears an ornate and elaborate headdress.
