⁂ Rare, with ESTC recording only six copies in total of the two variants. Included in the lot is a loan interest document signed by Oxford. The main focus of the charges against Harley concerned his role in the 1713 Peace of Utrecht, which ended the War of the Spanish Succession. In 1717, after two years of imprisonment, a motion was brought by the opposition that the government should either bring Harley to trial or release him. He was acquitted and released. During the impeachment Harley was supported by Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift and Daniel Defoe.
