Ca. 100-300 AD A bronze fibula featuring a deep bow, set of three protrusions with bulb finials to the lower end, and a spring mechanism, catch-plate, and pin to the reverse. Fibulae were brooches used in Greek and Roman dress for fastening garments.Size: L:38.3mm / W:27.8mm ; 18.13g Provenance: From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1990s.
