Bound in 19th c. morocco. ************** An unusual and very early edition of this important work. Grafton compiled and published the work while in prison for having printed a proclamation on the accession of Lady Jane Grey and identified himself in it as "printer to the Queen." A 19th c. note to the ffe incorrectly notes this as the second edition of 1563, and a facsimile of the title-page of a 1572 is laid in at front. The first and second pocket editions appeared in 1562 and 1563. ESTC S112513.
