Item Details

Description

An antique late 19th-century photo album with an embossed leather hardcover. The album contains black and white portraits, the personalities of each photographed person is indicated by a handwritten inscription underneath the picture. The inscription on the flyleaf notes that the album was gifted to R. Austin Robertson Jr. for Christmas in 1878. R. Austin Robertson Jr. was the son of Richard Austin Robertson, 1829-1891, an American businessmen and collector from NYC, member of the American Art Association. His portrait also can be found in the album. Collectible Americana, US Local History, Antique Photography.

Dimensions: Size: 8 1/2 X 7 in. All measurements are approximate.

Condition

Signs of age and wear. The outside shows a lot of wear. The front cover and couple of first pages are not attached. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
