(1751 - 1829) Continental Army General, member of George Washington's staff present during the surrender at Yorktown, later U.S. Secretary of War under Thomas Jefferson. Franking signature 'H. Dearborn' as Secretary of War on a folded cover addressed in another hand to the Commissioner of Loans in Boston. Wrinkled, with a seal tear causing paper loss, some soiling and spotting.
