Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 17.5 x 13.25, January 13, 1902. President Roosevelt appoints Charles J. Hamblett as an "Attorney of the United States, in and for the District of New Hampshire." Signed boldly at the conclusion by Theodore Roosevelt and countersigned by Attorney General Philander C. Knox. Lower left retains the embossed Justice Department seal. In very good condition, with staining, toning, and wrinkling, none of which adversely affects Roosevelt's dark signature.
