A small round vase made of solid walnut burl wood. Hand carved inscription 4-06, Mel Linquist, Burl is underneath the piece. Mel Lindquist, 1911-2000, was an American designer, a pioneer of the studio wood turning movement. His forms were often based on ancient Greek and Roman ceramic vessels and were revolutionary in that they incorporated natural irregularities including cracks, voids and areas of bark.
