Description
A large tall vase made of solid wild cherry burl wood. Hand carved inscription 9-84, Mel Linquist, Cherry Burl is underneath the piece. Mel Lindquist, 1911-2000, was an American designer, a pioneer of the studio wood turning movement. His forms were often based on ancient Greek and Roman ceramic vessels and were revolutionary in that they incorporated natural irregularities including cracks, voids and areas of bark. His son Mark Lindquist, born 1949, is also a prominent wood sculptor. Collectible Designer Decor Items.
