Description
Lot consists of a 1918 pamphlet from the Voters Alliance for Americans of German Ancestry entitled "Appeal to German-Americans for Action!", the plea written in English on one side and German on the opposite; six black and white photographs of Japanese dignitaries signing their official surrender to the Allied Powers aboard the USS Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay, bringing an end to World War II; and four envelopes, dated from July 1942 to September 1944, adorned with the patriotic slogans and imagery of the time, including "Our Flag Long May It Wave" followed by the lyrics of The Star-Spangled Banner, an eagle over a "V" for victory over a map of the United States that reads "Let's Beat 'Em 48 Different Ways", and stamps reading "Buy War Savings, Bonds and Stamps".
