Description
Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 500 CE. An attractive pottery kero adorned with a hand-painted motif of a vertically undulating band resembling a snake in hues of black, burnt orange, cream, and apricot. The ancient vessel sits upon a round yet stable base as its tall walls bend inward and then outward to a flared rim. Size: 6.1" Diameter x 7.3" H (15.5 cm x 18.5 cm)

Condition
Professional repair and restoration to rim. Stable hairline fissure extending from rim to just above base. Possible areas of repainting, as well as expected nicks and abrasions, commensurate with age. Otherwise, excellent with nice remaining pigments.
