Description
Union Infantry Officers Posed on House Porch, J.H. Beal Photograph
A large photograph of a group of high-ranking Union infantry officers and soldiers arrayed on a porch, with a mix of standing and sitting. Measuring 17.5" x 9.25", matted to the overall size of 21" x 13.75", n.p., n.d. The photograph is slightly faded, with age toning to mount. Dampstaining along the right edge of mount. Minor soiling and foxing in places.
All are dressed in their military uniforms, including hats and epaulets - most also have their sabers strapped to their sides. A civilian man can be viewed within the house, seated in the open window. Several of the men's faces are blurred, making it difficult to distinguish the unit or any identifiable members. There are also the shadows of moving dogs seen in the foreground of the photograph. With the photographer's stamp J.H. BEAL at the lower right.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
