Description
Mao Dun (July 4, 1896-March 27, 1981), formerly known as Shen Dehong, styled Yanbing, with the word line, male, native of Tongxiang, Zhejiang, modern Chinese writer and literary critic, former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chinese President of the Writers Guild. Commonly used pen names are Mao Dun, Xuanzhu, Fangbi, Zhijing, Pu Lao, Xingtian, Psheng, etc. In terms of literary creation, Mao Dun published his first novel "Eclipse" in 1928 (the trilogy "Disillusionment", "Shake", "Pursuit"). His representative works include Midnight, Countryside Trilogy (Spring Silkworm, Autumn Harvest, and Winter), Lin's Shop, and The First Half Day's Work. In addition, Mao Dun also wrote The General Theory of Western Literature.
