English Queen Anne/George I walnut veneered desk, early 18th century, having a banded top, pull-out writing surface, long drawer with six drawers below flanking a kneehole space with single door, and rising on ball feet, metal plaque engraved "BI/2945/425" to the back. Provenance: Previously sold in these rooms, Ahlers & Ogletree Auction Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, Inaugural Auction Contemporary Art & Estates, March 23, 2013, lot 170. Approx. h. 29.5", w. 34", d. 21.
Condition
Veneer damage, dryness cracks, wear to writing surface, evidence of previous worming (inactive), one escutcheon missing, case is structurally sound.
