In moulded glass, simulating stalagmites.
Signed and num. 67513.
Provenance: Private collection, Spain between 1970-1990.
Measurements: 16,5 x 14 x 14 cm.
GÃ¶ran WÃ¤rff was one of the main designers of Kosta-Boda, from the 1960s. GÃ¶ran is represented in the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. GÃ¶ran WÃ¤rff's work was characterised by his special interest in preserving the traditional skills of master craftsmen in glassblowing and glass cutting. The play of light within the transparent volume of glass and the optical phenomena that occur when glass diffracts light are a recurring theme in GÃ¶ran WÃ¤rff's artistic and design work. Nature and the play of light in nature are his other main sources of inspiration, beyond glass itself.
