Item Details

Description

machine-stitched, each with thin cream silk fabric having polychrome stitched design and long knotted fringe to each side, comprising one with all-over floral design, and one with a floral center field and two fenghuang birds at each corner. 20th century. One with pink and yellow flowers 45" x 46" without fringe, 16" L fringe; fenghuang bird example 53" x 50 1/2" without fringe, 18" L fringe.
Provenance: Private collection of Powhatan, VA.

Condition

All-over floral example in fair to good overall condition with areas of color bleeding, other spots, and scattered small holes, some pulled threads; fenghuang bird example in very good overall condition with scattered pinholes, minor spotting and stains, some pulled threads.
