Two similar late 19th century Berlin KPM porcelain plaques
both painted with figural scenes after Gabriel Ritter von Max (Austrian, 1840-1915)
one of portrait form enamelled with 'The Christian Martyr', the other of landscape form enamelled with 'The Lion's Bride', both with impressed KPM factory marks and later inscribed in pencil to the rear, mounted within contemporary ebonised composition rectangular frames with inner gilt slips, the first plaque 23cm by 15.5cm approximately, the other 15.5cm x 23cm, the frames 42cm x 35cm and 35cm x 42cm respectively (2)
