Sotheby's, Sales N10336, Important Chinese Art, on Sep 23rd 2020, LOT662 A GRAYISH-CELADON JADE GUI TABLET QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY ????? ?????????? in the form of a bi disc set against a vertical shaft with a pointed tip, one side of the disc covered with raised bosses, the opposite side carved with a pair of dragons contesting a 'Flaming Pearl', the animals' bodies descending along the sides of the disc, their bifurcated tails forming openwork loops to either side of the tablet, a constellation at the center of the tablet, the stone a mottled pale gray-green tone with russet veins, wood stand Height 9 in., 22.9 cmPROVENANCE: Collection of Rufus E.
