The Top Hat: From an old estate; a gentlemans heirloom black top hat (appears to be covered with the coveted, black Parisian silk) used for fox hunt riding and at special events like Ascot. This topper is absolutely gorgeous and antique ones are very hard to find.

Inside measurement size for fitting: approx. 8 in L by 6 1/4 in. W; Measuring the inside circumference, it is approx. 22 inches all around. According the Lock & Co website, a 22 inch is considered a UK hat size 6 7/8, a USA hat size 7, and a EU size 56. The Case: It is especially hard to find an old top hat that still retains its original case. The original case will be included with the hat.

*Maker Notes: The silk making equipment used to make the old hats no longer exists. This has caused these old hats to become very rare and valuable. Lock & Co. considers their top hats from this era as antique and vintage. Anyone who is able to acquire an old top hat like this one, will most likely send it to Lock & Co. in the UK to be professionally restored. According to the Lock & Co. website, Lock & Co. can restore these hats to as new condition and they resell them on their website for upwards of £6,000 (more than $7,300 USD).
