A pair of Chinese coral-glaze ground wucai square vases
Republic period
Sold with associated hardwood stands. (2).
H: 7 3/4, W: 3 1/2 in. (without stand) (H: 19.69, W: 8.89 cm. (without stand))
Provenance: Ms. Sherman, Colorado. The collection was inherited from her grandfather, John H. Reisner. Mr. Reisner went to Nanjing in 1914 and stayed until 1928. Mr. Reisner was an agriculture expert from Cornell University and went to Nanjing to help setup the agriculture department at Nanking University. These items were collected during the time Mr. Reisner was in China.

Condition
Glaze pops throughout. One with two chips to a long edge. Both wooden stands have wear and one has been repaired.
