A tall slender carved wooden post with mask life faces, remnants of organic pigments and obvious wear and weatherings suggesting good age. The exact use of these posts is not clearly understood. It is believed that such object are used in initiation ceremonies and possibly funerary contexts. The use of repeated or stacked truncated cone forms may be a visual metaphor for the multiplying of generations, and ancestor worship. Lengola peoples, DRC/ Congo, Africa.
