⁂ Paets van Troostwijk was a Dutch merchant and amateur chemist famous for his work with J.R.Deiman in splitting water into oxygen and hydrogen through electrolysis. This work examines the relationship between lightning and electricity, phenomena such as the Aurora Borealis, and whether electricity influences the acceleration of vegetation. The second part investigates electricity in relation to the cure of diseases.
