William Westmoreland (1914-2005) General. Westmoreland was in command of all US military operations in the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968, including during the 1968 Tet Offensive. He adopted a strategy of attrition against the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese Army. He served as Chief of Staff of the United States Army from 1968 to 1972. His book, A Soldier Reports, Doubleday, 1976, first edition, signed on the first title page. Condition very good, dust jacket protected.
